Abstract
Methods of using absorption enhancer as a component of skin care compositions for moisturizing and protecting the skin. Antimicrobial skin care compositions for cleansing and moisturizing the skin, comprising an absorption enhancer, an antimicrobial function enhancer and bound lipid removals, humectants, emollients and extracts of botanical herbs. Methods for preparing skin care compositions comprising an absorption enhancer.
Claims

1 . A method for promoting the absorption of materials applied to the skin, comprising the steps of:
a) applying to the skin a composition comprising said materials in combination with an effective amount of an absorption enhancer, and b) leaving said composition in contact with the skin.
2 . A method for cleansing the skin, comprising the steps of:
a) applying to the skin a composition in combination with an effective amount of an absorption enhancer, and b) rinsing non-absorbed remains of said composition from the skin.
3 . A method according to claim 1 , wherein said composition comprises an absorption enhancer, a humectant, an emollient, an antimicrobial agent, an anti-inflammatory agent, and a source of vitamins.
4 . A method according to claim 2 , wherein said composition comprises, a surfactant, an antimicrobial agent, an anti-inflammatory agent, an emollient, and a source of vitamins.
5 . A method according to claim 1 , wherein said absorption enhancer is ceramic hydroxyapatite.
6 . A method according to claim 5 , wherein said ceramic hydroxyapatite is present in an amount of from 0.01 to 5% by weight.
7 . A method according to claim 5 , wherein said ceramic hydroxyapatite is in the form of spherical particles, said spherical particles having a mean diameter in the range of 1 to 10 micrometers.
8 . A method according to claim 1 , wherein said materials are humectants.
9 . A method according to claim 1 , wherein said materials are emollients.
10 . A method according to claim 1 , wherein said materials are vitamins.
11 . A method according to claim 1 , wherein said materials are plant extracts.
12 . A composition for cleansing the skin by topical application to the skin, comprising an effective amount of an absorption enhancer.
13 . A composition according to claim 12 , wherein said absorption enhancer comprises ceramic hydroxyapatite.
14 . A composition according to claim 13 wherein said ceramic hydroxyapatite is in the form of spherical particles, said spherical particles having a mean diameter in the range of 1 to 10 micrometers.
15 . A composition according to claim 13 , wherein said ceramic hydroxyapatite is present in an amount of from 0.001 to 10% by weight
16 . A composition according to claim 12 , further comprising an antimicrobial agent.
17 . A composition according to claim 16 , wherein said antimicrobial agent comprises Triclosan.
18 . A composition according to claim 16 , further comprising an emollient, an anti-inflammatory agent, and a carrier.
19 . A composition according to claim 18 , further comprising a surfactant and a source of vitamins.
20 . A composition according to claim 19 , further comprising extracts of medicinal herbs and natural scents.
21 . A composition according to claim 20 , further comprising allantoin, and a sun blocking agent.
22 . A composition according to claim 20 , further comprising a chelating agent.
23 . A method according to claim 1 , wherein said applying step comprises applying a composition in which latex gloves are insoluble.
24 . A method of preparing a skin moisturizer composition, comprising:
i) metering a suitable volume of deionized water into a first vessel, ii) turning on the mixer of said first vessel, iii) adding the remaining components of a first phase of said composition to said first vessel, iv) heating the contents of said first vessel to a first predetermined temperature in the range of 30 to 95° C.; v) formulating a second phase of said composition, comprising the steps of:
a) combining the components of said second phase in a second vessel, and
b) thoroughly mixing the contents of said second vessel;
vi) when said first phase attains said first predetermined temperature, adding the contents of said second vessel to said first vessel; vii) formulating a third phase of the composition, comprising the steps of:
a) combining the components of said third phase in a third vessel, and
b) while heating the contents of said third vessel to said first predetermined temperature, mixing the contents of said third vessel;
viii) when the contents of both said first vessel and of said third vessel attain said first predetermined temperature, adding the contents of said third vessel to said first vessel; ix) discontinuing heating of said first vessel, x) formulating a fourth phase of the composition, comprising the steps of:
a) combining the components of said fourth phase in a fourth vessel, and
b) heating the contents of said fourth vessel to a second predetermined temperature in the range of 30 to 60° C.,
xi) when the contents of said first vessel attains said second predetermined temperature, adding the contents of said fourth vessel to said first vessel; xii) when the contents of said first vessel attains a third predetermined temperature in the range of 20 to 40° C., adding natural scent to said first vessel; and xiii) thoroughly mixing the contents of said first vessel.
25 . A method of making a skin cleanser composition, comprising:
i) metering a suitable volume of deionized water into a first vessel, ii) turning on the mixer of said first vessel, iii) adding the remaining components of a first phase of said composition to said first vessel, iv) formulating a second phase of the composition, comprising the steps of:
a) combining the components of said second phase in a second vessel, and
b) thoroughly mixing the contents of said second vessel;
v) adding the contents of said second vessel to said first vessel; vi) formulating a third phase of the composition, comprising the steps of:
a) combining the components of said third phase in a third vessel, and
b) while heating the contents of said third vessel to a first predetermined temperature in the range of 35 to 95° C., mixing the contents of said third vessel;
vii) adding the contents of said third vessel to said first vessel; viii) sequentially adding the remaining components of said composition, and ix) thoroughly mixing the contents of said first vessel.
26 . A composition prepared by the method of claim 24 .
27 . A composition prepared by the method of claim 25 .
28 . A method as claimed in claim 4 wherein said applying step comprises applying to the skin a composition comprising ceramic hydroxyapatite.
29 . A method as claimed in claim 28 , wherein said applying step comprises applying to the skin a composition comprising ceramic hydroxyapatite in the amount of from 0.001 to 10% by weight.
30 . A method of moisturizing the skin comprising the steps of:
i) applying an effective amount of a skin moisturizer composition to the skin, said composition comprising an effective amount of ceramic hydroxyapatite and a humectant, ii) distributing said skin moisturizer composition over the surface of the skin to be moisturized, and iii) allowing said moisturizer composition to remain in contact with the skin.
30 . A method of moisturizing the skin comprising the steps of:
i) applying an effective amount of a skin moisturizer composition to the skin, said composition comprising an effective amount of an antimicrobial agent, an absorption enhancer, a lipid remover, an antimicrobial function enhancer, humectant, emollient, anti-inflammatory agent, vitamins, and herbal extracts; ii) distributing said skin moisturizer composition over the surface of the skin; and iii) allowing said skin moisturizer composition to remain on the skin thereby allowing said emollients, vitamins and herbal extracts to penetrate into the skin.
31 . A method of cleansing wet skin comprising the steps of:
i) applying an effective amount of a skin cleansing composition to the wet skin, said composition comprising an effective amount of an antimicrobial agent, an absorption enhancer, a lipid remover, an antimicrobial function enhancer, humectant, emollient, anti-inflammatory agent, vitamins, and herbal extracts; ii) distributing said wet skin cleansing composition over the surface of the wet skin; and iii) rinsing the surface of said wet skin with water.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
