Outboard motor and gas tank carrier

Abstract

A carrier for attachment to a motor home or vehicle for transporting small outboard motors and their associated gasoline tanks is described. The carrier has a generally rectangular base for releasable attachment to a motor vehicle. The base has an outboard motor support for supporting an outboard motor in a position to maintain the propeller lower than the engine casing and a gasoline tank securing means for securely transporting the gasoline tank for the outboard motor.

The embodiments of the invention in which an exclusive property or privilege is claimed are defined as follows:  
     
         1 . An outboard motor carrier for attachment to a roof top carrier of a motor vehicle for transporting small outboard motors and their associated gas tanks, the carrier comprising a generally rectangular base for releasable attachment to the roof top carrier, the base being generally horizontal and having an outboard motor support for supporting an outboard motor in a position to maintain the propeller lower than the engine casing, the base further including a gasoline tank securing means for securely holding the gasoline tank for the outboard motor.  
     
     
         2 . An outboard carrier according to    claim 1    wherein the outboard motor support comprises a plate for attachment of an outboard motor extending angularly upwardly of the base and a drive casing support means lower than the plate for supporting the drive casing of an outboard motor and supporting an outboard motor in a position to maintain the propeller lower than the engine casing.
