Abstract

Use of a volatile organic polyhalogen solvent, in which the halogen atom is fluorine, in a cosmetic makeup, sun protection or nailcare composition. The composition contains the said organic polyhalogen solvent as a drying accelerator, the latter having a vapour pressure of more than 20 mbar (2000 Pa) at 25° C. The composition, which can be in anhydrous form or in the form of an emulsion, leads to very rapid drying.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . Use in a cosmetic makeup, sun protection or nailcare composition of at least one volatile organic polyhalogen solvent as a drying accelerator, the halogen atom being fluorine and the said solvent having a vapour pressure of more than 20 mbar (2000 Pa) at 25°C.

2 . Use according to claim 1 , characterized in that the said volatile solvent is a perfluorocycloalkyl compound of the following formula:

       in which:
 n is 3, 4, or 5,
 m is 1 or 2, and
 p is 1, 2 or 3
with the proviso that when m=2 the groups are not necessarily in the alpha position with respect to one another.

3 . Use according to claim 2 , characterized in that the perfluorocycloalkyl compound is selected from the group consisting of perfluoromethylcyclopentane, perfluorodimethylcyclohexane and perfluorodimethylcyclobutane.

4 . Use according to claim 1 , characterized in that the said volatile solvent is a fluoroalkyl or heterofluoroalkyl compound of the following formula:
       CH 3 —(CH 2 ) n —[Z] t —X—CF 3   (II)
       in which:
 t is 0 or 1,
 n is 0, 1, 2 or 3,
X is a linear or branched divalent perfluoroalkyl radical having 2 to 5 carbon atoms, and
 Z represents O, S or NR, where R is hydrogen or a radical —(CH 2 ) n —CH 3 or —(CF 2 ) m —CF 3 , where m is 2, 3, 4 or 5.

5 . Use according to claim 4 , characterized in that the heterofluoroalkyl compound is methoxynonafluorobutane or ethoxynonafluorobutane.

6 . Use according to claim 1 , characterized in that the said volatile solvent is a perfluoroalkane compound of the following formula:
       CF 3 —(CF 2 ) n —CF 3   (III)
       in which:
 n is from 2 to 6.

7 . Use according to claim 6 , characterized in that the perfluoroalkane compound is dedecafluoropentane or tetradecafluorohexane.

8 . Use according to claim 1 , characterized in that the said volatile solvent is a perfluoromorpholine derivative of the formula:

       in which:
 R is a C 1 -C 4 perfluoroalkyl radical.

9 . Use according to claim 8 , characterized in that the perfluoromorpholine derivative is 4-trifluoromethylperfluoromorpholine or 4-pentafluoroethylperfluoromorpholine.

10 . Use according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the volatile solvent is present in the composition in a proportion of between 2 and 98% by weight relative to the total weight of the composition.

11 . Use according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the composition comprises at least one pigment and/or dye and/or filler in particle form.

12 . Use according to claim 11 , characterized in that the proportion of pigment and/or dye in the composition is between 0.1 and 15% by weight relative to the total weight of the composition.

13 . Use according to claim 11 , characterized in that the proportion of filler in the composition is no more than 98% by weight relative to the total weight of the composition.
