Abstract

A scroll-type compressor is provided in which the same terminal box can be used irrespective of whether or not the earth is necessary. A bolt 35 is fixed to the sealing housing 11 for storing the scroll-type compressor mechanism C and a motor for driving the mechanism. A male screw is formed from the bottom to the top of this bolt 35. When it is necessary to earth, the earth terminal 37 is passed through the bolt 35 and the nut 38 is fastened. If the earth is not necessary, the terminal box can be fixed by fixing the plastic cover to the sealing housing after the plastic cover is passed over the bolt 35.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

1 . An sealed-type compressor, in which a terminal for connecting a lead wire from a motor and a wiring from a power supply and a terminal box for covering the terminal are fixed in an sealing housing, which stores a liquid compressing mechanism and a motor for driving the compressing mechanism, the sealed-type compressor comprises:
a fixing means which is capable of fixing both of said terminal box and the earth terminal in said sealed housing.

2 . An sealed-type compressor according to claim 1 , wherein said terminal box has an opening for allowing the earth wire to pass through in order to be connected to the earth terminal, and said fixing means is capable of fixing said earth terminal in said terminal box to the sealing housing.

3 . An sealed-type compressor according to claim 2 , wherein said fixing means comprises:
a bolt mounted vertically in the sealing housing; and a nut which engages with the bolt by a screw and which fixes said terminal box to the sealing housing, and wherein a male screw thread is formed on a portion of the bolt to screw said nut in order to fix said earth terminal in said terminal box to the sealing housing.
