Abstract

A packaging system for a compact disk comprising a box and a insert disposed within the box. The insert including first indicia disposed on the insert. The first indicia are setback from the window and are viewable through the window to provide a three-dimensional image.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

         1 . A packaging system comprising:
a box having a window for viewing therethrough; an insert within the box wherein first indicia disposed on the insert are set back from the window and are viewable through the window to provide a three-dimensional image; and a compact disk held in a selected position by the insert.

2 . The packaging system of claim 1 wherein the window contains second indicia which cooperate with the first indicia to create the three-dimensional image.

3 . The packaging system of claim 1 wherein the window is made of a transparent, optically clear or translucent material.

4 . The packaging system of claim 1 wherein the insert comprises a forward multi-panel structure and a rearward multi-panel structure which are joined together by a side panel at first and second crease lines.

5 . The packaging system of claim 4 wherein the forward multi-panel structure includes a front forward panel and a rear forward panel spaced apart from each other, and the front forward panel includes an opening, and the first indicia being disposed on the rear forward panel and being viewable through the opening and the window.

6 . The packaging system of claim 5 and further including a plurality of framing flaps extending from the front forward panel to the rear forward panel providing a frame surrounding the first indicia.

7 . The packaging system of claim 6 wherein the framing flaps include tab members at distal ends, and wherein the rear forward panel includes a plurality of first slots into which respective tab members extend to retain the framing flaps in a framing position.

8 . The packaging system of claim 7 wherein the rearward multi-panel structure includes a front rearward panel and the front rearward panel includes a plurality of second slots aligned with the first slots and wherein the tab members are of sufficient length to extend through the first slots and into the second slots.

9 . The packaging system of claim 8 wherein the compact disk is disposed between the front rearward panel and the rear forward panel in an area defined by the tab members.

10 . The packaging system of claim 4 and wherein the compact disk is disposed between the forward multi-panel structure and the rearward multi-panel structure.

         11 . A packaging system comprising:
a box having a window for viewing therethrough; an insert within the box wherein first indicia disposed on the insert are set back from the window and are viewable through the window to provide a three-dimensional effect; and a compact disk held in a selected position by the insert.

12 . The packaging system of claim 11 wherein the window contains second indicia which cooperate with the first indicia to create the three-dimensional image.

13 . The packaging system of claim 11 wherein the window is made of a transparent, optically clear or translucent material.

14 . The packaging system of claim 11 wherein the insert comprises a forward multi-panel structure and a rearward multi-panel structure which are joined together by a side panel at first and second crease lines.

15 . The packaging system of claim 14 wherein the forward multi-panel structure includes a front forward panel and a rear forward panel spaced apart from each other, and the front forward panel includes an opening, and the first indicia being disposed on the rear forward panel and being viewable through the opening and the window.

16 . The packaging system of claim 15 and further including a plurality of framing flaps extending from the front forward panel to the rear forward panel providing a frame surrounding the first indicia.

17 . The packaging system of claim 16 wherein the framing flaps include tab members at distal ends, and wherein the rear forward panel includes a plurality of first slots into which respective tab members extend to retain the framing flaps in a framing position.

18 . The packaging system of claim 17 wherein the rearward multi-panel structure includes a front rearward panel and the front rearward panel includes a plurality of second slots aligned with the first slots and wherein the tab members are of sufficient length to extend through the first slots and into the second slots.

19 . The packaging system of claim 18 wherein the compact disk is disposed between the front rearward panel and the rear forward panel in an area defined by the tab members.

20 . The packaging system of claim 14 and wherein the compact disk is disposed between the forward multi-panel structure and the rearward multi-panel structure.
