Content dispensing container apparatus

Abstract

A content dispensing package apparatus is provided. The content dispensing package apparatus can be configured to elevate contents for immediate dispensing to the user, the user able to raise the contents from outside an outer container. For example, a container for dispensing edible contents can include a first container portion, a second container portion configured to move between a first position and a second position, and a tab coupled to the second container portion. The tab can be accessible from the outside of the container and used to move the second container.

The invention claimed is: 
     
       1. A container for dispensing contents, the container comprising:
 a first container portion comprising:
 an opening to access the contents, 
 a first container portion top, 
 a first container portion bottom, 
 a first container portion sidewall having an inner surface and an outer surface, and 
 a slot formed in the first container portion sidewall inner surface; 
 
 a second container portion to contain at least a portion of the contents, the second container portion comprising:
 a second container portion top, 
 a second container portion bottom, 
 a second container portion sidewall having an inner surface and an outer surface, and 
 a tab extending outwardly beyond the second container portion sidewall outer surface and engaging the first container portion slot; and 
 
 a grasp ring coupled to the second container portion tab; 
 wherein:
 the second container portion is encompassed by the first container portion and forms an internal chamber within the first container portion; 
 the second container portion is movable relative to the first container portion between a first position where the second container portion bottom is proximate the first container portion bottom and a second position where the second container portion top is proximate the first container portion top; and 
 the first container portion slot is covered by the second container portion sidewall when the second container is in the first position, 
 the first container portion slot extends upwardly at an angle that is less than ninety degrees relative to the first container portion bottom, and 
 rotation of the grasp ring relative to the first container portion moves the tab along the angled slot, simultaneously moving the second container and the grasp ring in a direction from the first position to the second position. 
 
 
     
     
       2. The container of  claim 1 , wherein the first container portion slot extends through the first container portion sidewall from the inner surface to the outer surface. 
     
     
       3. The container of  claim 1 , wherein the first container portion slot extends partially through the first container portion sidewall from the inner surface. 
     
     
       4. The container of  claim 1 , wherein the first container portion slot comprises an indent. 
     
     
       5. The container of  claim 4 , wherein the indent is spaced apart from the first container portion bottom. 
     
     
       6. The container of  claim 5 , wherein the indent is selectively engaged by the second container portion tab to maintain the second container portion in the second position. 
     
     
       7. The container of  claim 6 , wherein the first container portion slot comprises a second indent. 
     
     
       8. The container of  claim 7 , wherein the second container portion is movable to a third position between the first position and the second position. 
     
     
       9. The container of  claim 8 , wherein the second indent is selectively engaged by the second container portion tab to maintain the second container portion in the third position. 
     
     
       10. The container of  claim 1  further comprising a seal disposed between the second container portion and the first container portion. 
     
     
       11. The container of  claim 10 , wherein the seal is disposed between the first container portion sidewall inner surface and the second container portion sidewall outer surface. 
     
     
       12. The container of  claim 1 , wherein the first container portion slot extends from a start point proximate the first container portion bottom. 
     
     
       13. The container of  claim 12 , wherein the first container portion slot extends upwardly to an end point that is spaced apart from the first container portion top. 
     
     
       14. The container of  claim 13 , where the slot end point is lower than the second container portion top when the second container is in the first position. 
     
     
       15. A container for dispensing contents, the container comprising:
 a first container portion comprising:
 an opening to access the contents, 
 a first container portion top, 
 a first container portion bottom, 
 a first container portion sidewall having an inner surface and an outer surface, and 
 a slot formed in the first container portion sidewall inner surface; 
 
 a second container portion to contain at least a portion of the contents, the second container portion comprising:
 a second container portion top, 
 a second container portion bottom, 
 a second container portion sidewall having an inner surface and an outer surface, and 
 a tab extending outwardly beyond the second container portion sidewall outer surface and engaging the first container portion slot; 
 
 a grasp ring coupled to the second container tab; and 
 a seal disposed between the second container portion and the first container portion; 
 wherein:
 the second container portion is encompassed by the first container portion and forms an internal chamber within the first container portion; 
 the second container portion is movable relative to the first container portion between a first position where the second container portion bottom is proximate the first container portion bottom and a second position where the second container portion top is proximate the first container portion tops; 
 the first container portion slot extends upwardly at an angle that is less than ninety degrees relative to the first container portion bottom, and 
 rotation of the grasp ring relative to the first container portion moves the tab along the angled slot, simultaneously moving the second container and the grasp ring in a direction from the first position to the second position. 
 
 
     
     
       16. The container of  claim 15 , wherein the first container portion slot is covered by the second container portion sidewall when the second container is in the first position. 
     
     
       17. The container of  claim 16 , wherein the seal is disposed between the first container portion sidewall inner surface and the second container portion sidewall outer surface. 
     
     
       18. The container of  claim 15 , wherein the seal is positioned above the first container portion slot. 
     
     
       19. The container of  claim 15 , wherein the contents do not come in contact with the first container portion slot.
