Chef shield

Abstract

A chef shield device, including a shield, where the shield includes a shield flange protruding from the shield, and at least one rib, a coupling rotatably connected to the shield flange, the coupling including at least one coupling arm and a plurality of coupling arm indents aligned with the at least one rib, and a clasp rotatably connected to the coupling.

What I claim is: 
     
       1. A chef shield device, comprising:
 a shield, wherein the shield comprises:
 a shield flange protruding from the shield; and 
 at least one rib; 
 
 a coupling rotatably connected to the shield flange, the coupling comprising:
 at least one coupling arm; and 
 a plurality of coupling arm indents aligned with the at least one rib; 
 
 a clasp rotatably connected to the coupling. 
 
     
     
       2. The chef shield device as recited in  claim 1 , wherein the clasp comprises two clasp members rotatably connected through a clasp pin. 
     
     
       3. The chef shield device as recited in  claim 2 , wherein the clasp pin connects said clasp to said coupling. 
     
     
       4. The chef shield device as recited in  claim 3 , wherein the angle of rotation of the shield relative to the coupling is defined by the position of the at least one rib relative to the plurality of coupling arm indents. 
     
     
       5. The chef shield device as recited in  claim 4 , wherein the clasp further comprises:
 two clasp members, wherein each clasp member comprises a member clasp handle and a clasp member arm; and 
 the two clasp member handles are engaged and disengaged to open and close the clasp. 
 
     
     
       6. The chef shield device as recited in  claim 5 , wherein arm padding is located on the inner surface of the two clasp member arms. 
     
     
       7. The chef shield device as recited in  claim 6 , wherein the arm padding includes ridges. 
     
     
       8. The chef shield device as recited in  claim 1 , wherein the outer surface of the shield further comprises a raised edge. 
     
     
       9. The chef shield device as recited in  claim 1 , wherein the bottom portion of the outer surface of the shield comprises a tray. 
     
     
       10. The chef shield device as recited in  claim 1 , further comprising:
 a second shield, wherein the second shield comprises:
 a second shield flange protruding from the second shield; and 
 at least one rib; 
 
 wherein the coupling is rotatably connected to the shield flange and the second shield flange. 
 
     
     
       11. A chef shield device, comprising:
 a shield with an inner surface and an outer surface, wherein:
 the outer surface comprises a raised edge and a tray; 
 the inner surface comprises a shield flange and at least two ribs; 
 
 a shield pin rotatably connecting the shield flange and a coupling, wherein the coupling comprises two coupling arms engaged with the at least two ribs; 
 a clasp pin rotatably connecting a clasp to the coupling, wherein the clasp comprises two clasp members that engage about the clasp pin. 
 
     
     
       12. The chef shield device as recited in  claim 11 , wherein the two coupling arms comprise a plurality of coupling arm indents that engage with the ribs of the shield. 
     
     
       13. The chef shield device as recited in  claim 11 , wherein clasp pin is substantially perpendicular to the shield pin. 
     
     
       14. The chef shield device as recited in  claim 11 , wherein arm padding is located on the inner surface of the two clasp member arms. 
     
     
       15. The chef shield device as recited in  claim 14 , wherein the arm padding includes ridges. 
     
     
       16. The chef shield device as recited in  claim 11 , wherein the outer surface of the shield further comprises a raised edge. 
     
     
       17. The chef shield device as recited in  claim 16 , wherein the bottom portion of the outer surface of the shield comprises a tray. 
     
     
       18. A chef shield device, comprising:
 a shield, wherein the shield comprises:
 a shield flange protruding from the shield; and 
 at least one rib; 
 
 a coupling rotatably connected to the shield flange, the coupling comprising:
 at least one coupling arm; and 
 a plurality of coupling arm indents aligned with the at least one rib; 
 
 a zip tie mechanism that removably connects the chef shield device to a cooking utensil. 
 
     
     
       19. The chef shield device as recited in  claim 18 , further comprising an open/close button to engage and disengage the zip tie mechanism from the cooking utensil. 
     
     
       20. The chef shield device as recited in  claim 18 , further comprising a silicone coating on the inside surface of the zip tie mechanism. 
     
     
       21. The chef shield device as recited in  claim 18 , wherein the shield is interchangeable.
