Abstract

A liquid transfer device having a housing with a top end, a bottom end, a sidewall, and an inner cavity. The sidewall has an inner surface and an outer surface. There is a plurality of openings traversing said sidewall. Also present is a filtering surface that covers the openings. The water or other liquids are pumped or transferred with a pump contained inside the inner cavity, with a fluid exit used for carrying the water out towards exterior hosing.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

       1. A liquid filtering and transfer device comprising:
 a substantially rigid housing defining an enclosed space and having a top end, a bottom end, and a sidewall, wherein said housing includes
 a plurality of openings along the sidewalk of said housing, wherein the openings near the bottom end of the sidewall are smaller in size than the openings in the middle portion of the sidewall, which are smaller in size than the openings near the top end of the sidewall; and
 a securing mechanism that immobilizes said housing;

 an electronic fluid transfer pump contained within and surrounded by said housing and having an inlet manifold located in a proximity of said bottom end of the housing;
 a substantially fluid permeable filtering surface located in proximity to either an inner surface of said sidewall, or an outer surface of said sidewall, and covering said plurality of openings of said sidewall; and
 a power cord for attaching said electronic fluid transfer pump to an external power source, wherein said power cord connects to an electrical power switch, which connects to said, electronic fluid transfer pump, and the function of said switch is for changing the operative state of said pump.

       2. The device of claim 1 , further comprising a fluid exhaust pipe.

       3. The device of claim 2 , wherein the fluid exhaust pipe extends and exits through a top section of the sidewall of the housing.

       4. The device of claim 1 , wherein said electrical power switch is actuated by a flotation device in response to changes of fluid level.

       5. The device of claim 1 , wherein said filtering surface is disposed in proximity to an inner surface of said sidewall.

       6. The device of claim 1 , wherein said filtering surface is disposed in proximity to an outer surface of said sidewall.
