Fingerprint-based experience generation

Abstract

Experience fingerprints can be generated that are unique but correspond to a recognizable fingerprint template, where each fingerprint can correspond to a word of a visual language. Image data can be captured that includes a representation of an experience fingerprint, and the fingerprint can be analyzed by a remote system or service to determine an experience to be provided. The experience can be a general experience to be provided for any request relating to a specific fingerprint received over a period of time, or the experience can be selected, modified, or generated based upon contextual information for the request, such as information for a user or device submitting the request. The experience can include audio, video, text, or graphical content, as may be presented using one or more devices.

What is claimed is: 
     
       1. A computer-implemented method, comprising:
 receiving a request including image data captured using a camera of a computing device, the request further including contextual data; 
 analyzing the image data to identify an experience fingerprint represented in the image data, the experience fingerprint including a selection of graphical elements arranged according to a fingerprint template; 
 determining user data associated with at least one of the computing device or a user associated with the computing device; 
 determining an experience package associated with the experience fingerprint, the experience package specifying content, a plurality of relevant experiences, and one or more criteria for selecting from the plurality of relevant experiences; 
 determining criteria values, from at least one of the contextual data or the user data, the criteria values including a preference for a type of experience; 
 determining, based at least in part upon the one or more criteria and the criteria values, a relevant experience of the plurality of relevant experiences; and 
 causing the relevant experience to be presented, in response to the request, using at least a subset of the content. 
 
     
     
       2. The computer-implemented method of  claim 1 , further comprising:
 providing instructions for presenting the relevant experience by at least one of selecting instructions for the relevant experience or generating request-specific instructions for the relevant experience. 
 
     
     
       3. The computer-implemented method of  claim 1 , further comprising:
 identifying a set of features in the image data that correspond to a fingerprint pattern; 
 determining, based at least in part upon a graphical element of the experience fingerprint, an orientation of the fingerprint pattern; 
 comparing the set of features, according to the orientation, against a set of experience fingerprints representing words of a visual language; and 
 identifying the experience fingerprint by locating an experience fingerprint, of the set of experience fingerprints, that corresponds to the set of features. 
 
     
     
       4. The computer-implemented method of  claim 1 , further comprising:
 determining at least one additional device capable of providing at least a portion of the relevant experience; and 
 causing the at least one additional device to provide at least the portion of the experience. 
 
     
     
       5. The computer-implemented method of  claim 4 , further comprising:
 providing instructions to the at least one additional device by at least one of a network-based transmission, an audio transmission, a visual transmission, or a direct communication from the computing device. 
 
     
     
       6. A computer-implemented method, comprising:
 receiving a request including fingerprint data, the fingerprint data corresponding to a visual fingerprint represented in image data captured by a camera of a user device; 
 identifying the visual fingerprint corresponding to the fingerprint data; 
 determining a plurality of relevant experiences associated with the visual fingerprint; 
 determining one or more criteria for selecting from the plurality of relevant experiences, the one or more criteria including a preference for a type of experience; 
 determining a relevant experience of plurality of relevant experiences based at least upon the one or more criteria, the relevant experience including a presentation of content by at least one electronic device; 
 identifying the content to be presented for the relevant experience; and 
 causing the content to be presented by the at least one electronic device. 
 
     
     
       7. The computer-implemented method of  claim 6 , further comprising:
 receiving contextual data with the request, the contextual data including at least one of a geolocation, time data, date information, a user identifier, a device identifier, or a session identifier; and 
 determining the relevant experience based further in part upon the contextual data. 
 
     
     
       8. The computer-implemented method of  claim 6 , further comprising:
 determining historical data associated with the request, the historical data stored for at least one of a user account, a user profile, a session, or the user device; and 
 determining the relevant experience based further in part upon the historical data. 
 
     
     
       9. The computer-implemented method of  claim 6 , further comprising:
 generating the relevant experience based at least upon a request-specific type of experience. 
 
     
     
       10. The computer-implemented method of  claim 6 , further comprising:
 determining the at least one electronic device to present the content for the relevant experience, the at least one electronic device capable of including the user device, a network-connected device, or an electronic device capable of receiving communications from the user device. 
 
     
     
       11. The computer-implemented method of  claim 6 , wherein the content for the relevant experience includes at least one of text, graphics, audio, video, game content, augmented reality content, or virtual reality content. 
     
     
       12. The computer-implemented method of  claim 6 , further comprising:
 identifying an experience package associated with the visual fingerprint, the experience package specifying the content and the one or more criteria. 
 
     
     
       13. The computer-implemented method of  claim 6 , further comprising:
 identifying a source graphic included in the fingerprint data; and 
 determining at least one of an orientation of the fingerprint or the relevant experience based at least in part upon the source graphic. 
 
     
     
       14. The computer-implemented method of  claim 6 , further comprising:
 providing a customer console enabling a customer to design at least one fingerprint to be associated with the relevant experience, the at least one fingerprint corresponding to a fingerprint template enabling the fingerprint to be recognized in captured image data. 
 
     
     
       15. The computer-implemented method of  claim 6 , further comprising:
 providing an application incorporating fingerprint capture functionality, wherein the application causes the fingerprint data to be transmitted to a designated system for determination of the relevant experience to be provided. 
 
     
     
       16. A computing system, comprising:
 at least one processor; 
 memory including instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the computing system to:
 receive, from a user device, fingerprint data corresponding to a visual fingerprint represented in image data captured using the user device; 
 identify the visual fingerprint corresponding to the fingerprint data; 
 determine a plurality of experiences associated with the visual fingerprint; 
 determine one or more criteria for selecting from the plurality of relevant experiences, the one or more criteria including a preference for a type of experience; 
 determine a relevant experience of plurality of relevant experiences based at least upon the one or more criteria, the relevant experience including a presentation of content by at least one electronic device; 
 identify the content to be presented for the relevant experience; and 
 cause the content to be presented by the at least one electronic device. 
 
 
     
     
       17. The computer system of  claim 16 , wherein the instructions when executed further cause the computing device to:
 determine at least one of contextual data or historical data associated with the request, wherein the contextual data includes at least one of a geolocation, time data, date information, a user identifier, a device identifier, or a session identifier, and wherein the historical data stored for at least one of a user account, a user profile, a session, or the user device; and 
 determine the relevant experience based further in part upon the contextual data. 
 
     
     
       18. The computer system of  claim 16 , wherein the instructions when executed further cause the computing device to:
 determine the at least one electronic device to present the content for the relevant experience, the at least one electronic device capable of including the user device, a network-connected device, or an electronic device capable of receiving communications from the user device. 
 
     
     
       19. The computer system of  claim 16 , wherein the instructions when executed further cause the computing device to:
 identify a source graphic included in the fingerprint data; and 
 determine at least one of an orientation of the fingerprint or the experience based at least in part upon the source graphic.
