Abstract

A system and method for establishing a communication with a customer by an agent, via one or more communication modes includes an agent computer and a second computer. The agent computer receives a batch notification identifying a batch of one or more customer records in the agent computer, for communication in the near future, wherein the one or more customer records is associated with one or more customers. The second computer provides the batch notification enabling the agent computer to identify the batch of one or more customer records. The system determines a next step action based on an outcome of a communication attempt made to communicate with the customer and based on a specified number of communication attempts made to communicate with the customer.

Claims

What is claimed is:

       1. A system for establishing a communication with a customer by an agent, comprising:
 an agent computer comprising a first processor and a first memory configured to store non-transitory instructions that when executed by the first processor performs the step of:
 receiving a batch notification identifying a batch of one or more customer records in the agent computer, for communication in the near future, wherein the one or more customer records is associated with one or more customers;

 a second computer comprising a second processor and a second memory configured to store non-transitory instructions that when executed by the second processor performs the step of:
 providing the batch notification identifying the batch of one or more customer records in the agent computer; and

 wherein the system determines a next step action based on an outcome of a communication attempt made to communicate with the customer and based on a specified number of communication attempts made to communicate with the customer.

       2. The system of claim 1 , wherein the specified number of communication attempts is configurable.

       3. The system of claim 1 , wherein a time gap between each repetition of communication attempts is configurable.

       4. The system of claim 1 , wherein the system is further configured to determine the next step action based on a characteristic of the customer.

       5. The system of claim 1 , wherein one or more agent based touches are associated with a multi-touch marketing campaign.

       6. The system of claim 1 , wherein the customer is associated with a multi-touch marketing campaign and the communication is attempted to communicate with the customer as part of executing a touch the customer is associated with.

       7. The system of claim 1 , wherein the next step action includes one or more of the group consisting of:
 (i) moving the customer from a touch currently associated with the customer to another touch that is part of a multi-touch marketing campaign currently associated with the customer;
 (ii) moving the customer from the multi-touch marketing campaign currently associated with the customer to another multi-touch marketing campaign;
 (iii) replacing the touch currently associated with the customer with another touch; and
 (iv) skipping one or more touches of the multi-touch marketing campaign currently associated with the customer.

       8. The system of claim 1 , wherein the agent computer is further configured to identify a customer record associated with a selected customer that is being attempted for communication or selected for communication attempt next, wherein the batch comprises at least one customer record associated with the selected customer.

       9. The system of claim 1 , further comprising a third computer comprising a third processor and a third memory configured to store non-transitory instructions that when executed by the third processor performs the step of:
 providing a transferred notification acknowledging that a transferred customer that has been attempted for communication has been transferred, wherein the batch comprises at least one customer record of the transferred customer.

       10. The system of claim 1 , further comprising a communication assistance module configured to:
 provide a transferred notification confirming that a transferred customer that has been attempted for communication has been transferred, wherein the batch comprises at least one customer record of the transferred customer; and
 partially or fully automate a communication attempt with the transferred customer and the interaction with the transferred customer up until prior to the transfer.

       11. The system of claim 1 , wherein the communication includes one or more of the group consisting of a phone call, a voice message, a communication using automated phone technology, an email, a text message, a chat, an instant message, a video, a short message service (SMS) message, and a multimedia messaging service (MMS) message.

       12. The system of claim 11 , wherein the communication using automated phone technology consists of an interactive voice response (IVR) system.

       13. The system of claim 1 , wherein the system is further configured to predict a schedule timeslot of the agent by taking into account one or more of the group consisting of a number of agent based touches that may need to be executed at various timeslots, agent availability data associated with the agent, agent availability data associated with other agents, touch specific outcome correlation data, and marketing outcome correlation data.

       14. The system of claim 13 , wherein the agent computer is configured to graphically show the predicted schedule timeslot of the agent for the communication session versus the actual agent availability for the timeslot.

       15. The system of claim 1 , wherein if agent availability is not sufficient to execute a future agent based touch during an execution time associated with an agent based touch, the system proactively updates or replaces the agent based touch with a non agent based touch or changes the order of the touches by switching the agent based touch with a non agent based touch.

       16. A method for a computer controlled communication system comprising a processor and a memory for establishing a communication with a customer by an agent, comprising the steps of:
 receiving a batch notification identifying a batch of one or more customer records, for communication in the near future, wherein the one or more customer records is associated with one or more customers; and
 determining a next step action based on an outcome of a communication attempt made to communicate with the customer and based on a specified number of communication attempts made to communicate with the customer.

       17. The method of claim 16 , further comprising the step of configuring the specified number of communication attempts.

       18. The method of claim 16 , further comprising the step of configuring a time gap between each repetition of communication attempts.
