Apparatus and method for wireless communication
Abstract
A wireless communication apparatus which can simultaneously conduct communication on at least two frequency channels is described. The apparatus includes a communication unit which refers to a connection management table to determine a communication system which can be used by a wireless communication terminal using an identifier of the wireless communication terminal, and conducts communication with the wireless communication terminal on a second frequency channel using the communication system, when a request from the wireless communication terminal to change the first frequency channel to the second frequency channel is permitted.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1. A wireless communication apparatus capable of communicating via a first frequency channel and a second frequency channel, comprising:
a transmitter configured to transmit, via the first frequency channel, a first frame including an identifier of the second frequency channel, frequency band information to which the second frequency channel belongs, and group identification information on a group used for communication via the second frequency channel; and
a receiver configured to receive a frame via the first frequency channel and a frame via the second frequency channel.
2. The apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the receiver receives, via the first frequency channel, a second frame for changing to the second frequency channel.
3. The apparatus according to claim 2 , wherein the transmitter transmits the frame via the second frequency channel, after a change request by the second frame is permitted.
4. The apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the first frame includes information on a communication system used on the second frequency channel,
the transmitter transmits a frame via the second frequency channel by using the communication system.
5. The apparatus according to claim 2 , wherein the transmitter transmits, via the first frequency channel, a response frame to the second frame,
the transmitter transmits a frame via the second frequency channel after transmitting the response frame.
6. The apparatus according to claim 4 , wherein the information on the communication system includes information on a plurality of modulation and coding schemes.
7. The apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the transmitter transmits, via the second frequency channel, a third frame including an identifier of the first frequency channel, frequency band information to which the first frequency channel belongs, and group identification information on a group used for communication via the first frequency channel.
8. The apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the first frame is one of a beacon frame or a probe response frame.
9. The apparatus according to claim 1 , further comprising:
a first antenna capable of communicating via the first frequency channel; and
a second antenna capable of communicating via the second frequency channel.
10. The apparatus according to claim 1 , further comprising an antenna capable of communicating via the first frequency channel and the second frequency channel.
11. The apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the group is a Basic Service Set (BSS).
12. A wireless communication apparatus capable of communicating via a first frequency channel and a second frequency channel, comprising:
a receiver configured to receive, via the first frequency channel, a first frame including an identifier of the second frequency channel, frequency band information to which the second frequency channel belongs, and group identification information on a group used for communication via the second frequency channel; and
a transmitter configured to transmit a frame via the first frequency channel.
13. The apparatus according to claim 12 , wherein the transmitter transmits, via the first frequency channel, a second frame for changing to the second frequency channel.
14. The apparatus according to claim 13 , wherein when the receiver receives a response frame to the second frame, the transmitter transmits a frame via the second frequency channel.
15. The apparatus according to claim 14 , wherein the first frame includes information on a communication system used on the second frequency channel,
the transmitter transmits the frame via the second frequency channel by using the communication system.
16. The apparatus according to claim 12 , wherein the transmitter transmits a fourth frame including information on communication systems capable of being used on the first frequency channel and the second frequency channel.
17. The apparatus according to claim 12 , further comprising:
a first antenna capable of communicating via the first frequency channel; and
a second antenna capable of communicating via the second frequency channel.
18. The apparatus according to claim 12 , further comprising an antenna capable of communicating via the first frequency channel and the second frequency channel.
19. A wireless communication method of communicating via a first frequency channel and a second frequency channel, comprising:
transmitting, via the first frequency channel, a first frame including an identifier of the second frequency channel, frequency band information to which the second frequency channel belongs, and group identification information on a group used for communication via the second frequency channel; and
receiving a frame via the first frequency channel and a frame via the second frequency channel.
20. A wireless communication method of communicating via a first frequency channel and a second frequency channel, comprising:
receiving, via the first frequency channel, a first frame including an identifier of the second frequency channel, frequency band information to which the second frequency channel belongs, and group identification information on a group used for communication via the second frequency channel; and
transmitting a frame via the first frequency channel.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
