Abstract

Rootstock ‘8909-05’ is a cross of Vitis rupestris ‘A. de Serres’× Muscadinia rotundifolia ‘Cowart’. This invention relates to a new and distinct variety of grape rootstock with resistance to a broad array of soil-borne nematodes including root-knot, dagger, citrus, lesion, and ring nematodes. The rootstock also resists grape phylloxera. Rootstock ‘8909-05’ is one of the rare sources of resistance to ring nematode. The rootstock has extremely strong and broad nematode resistance.
