Abstract

An apparatus comprising a platform; a plurality of trucks coupled to the platform; and a roller assembly coupled to the platform, wherein the roller assembly is configured for an omnidirectional rotation, wherein the roller assembly is configured for an elastic biasing, wherein the roller assembly is driven by a motor.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A device comprising: a caster unit including a mount, a roller, and a motor, wherein the roller is coupled to the mount, wherein the motor is coupled to the mount, wherein the motor is configured to drive the roller through the mount. 
     
     
         2 . The device of  claim 1 , further comprising a cart including the caster unit. 
     
     
         3 . The device of  claim 2 , wherein the caster unit is fastened to the cart. 
     
     
         4 . The device of  claim 2 , further comprising a battery configured to power the motor, wherein the battery is coupled to the cart. 
     
     
         5 . The device of  claim 4 , wherein the cart has a lower side hosting the battery. 
     
     
         6 . The device of  claim 2 , wherein the caster unit includes only one roller and only one motor. 
     
     
         7 . The device of  claim 2 , wherein the cart includes a platform having an upper side configured to transport an object thereon, wherein the platform is configured to extend between the caster unit and the object. 
     
     
         8 . The device of  claim 2 , wherein the cart includes a first wheel and a second, wherein the caster unit is secured to the cart between the first wheel and the second wheel. 
     
     
         9 . The device of  claim 2 , wherein the motor is a DC motor. 
     
     
         10 . The device of  claim 2 , wherein the motor is a brushed motor. 
     
     
         11 . The device of  claim 2 , further comprising a remote control configured to control the motor. 
     
     
         12 . The device of  claim 11 , wherein the remote control is handheld. 
     
     
         13 . The device of  claim 11 , wherein the motor is configured to drive the roller at a speed, wherein the remote control is configured to control the speed. 
     
     
         14 . The device of  claim 11 , wherein the remote control includes a housing storing a battery powering the remote control. 
     
     
         15 . The device of  claim 1 , wherein the caster unit includes only one roller and only one motor. 
     
     
         16 . The device of  claim 1 , wherein the mount extends between the roller and the motor. 
     
     
         17 . A method comprising:
 causing a caster unit to be received, wherein the caster unit includes a mount, a roller, and a motor, wherein the roller is coupled to the mount, wherein the motor is coupled to the mount, wherein the motor is configured to drive the roller through the mount; and   causing the caster unit to be attached to a cart such that the cart can travel via the caster unit.   
     
     
         18 . The method of  claim 17 , wherein the caster unit includes only one roller and only one motor. 
     
     
         19 . The method of  claim 17 , further comprising causing the motor to be powered from a battery of the cart. 
     
     
         20 . The method of  claim 17 , further comprising causing the caster unit to be secured to the cart between a first wheel of the cart and the second wheel of the cart.
