Abstract
A system and method of embedding a sideband content, including sideband advertising, in a main content is disclosed. The method includes the steps of preparing the main content, preparing the sideband content, and merging the sideband content in the main content such that the sideband content is embedded non-intrusively in the main content. The sideband content may include a watermark, mosaic image or text pattern. Sideband content may be embedded in media content including print media content, online content such as web pages, streaming media content such as radio, television, and video transmissions, and mobile media content.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A method of embedding a sideband content in a main content comprising the steps of:
preparing the main content for reading in a smaller scale; preparing the sideband content for viewing in a larger scale; rendering the main content within a display; amending the literal or text portion of the main content by amending the contents of the main content with trivial or unimportant changes in an effect that the variations of the literal or text portion of the main content forms the sideband content in such a way that: the changes to the main content is trivial and unimportant to a user viewing the main content; the variations of the literal or text portion of the main content forms the sideband content in the larger scale; when a user is viewing the main content within the display in the smaller scale, the variations of the literal or text portion of the main content and the formed sideband content is unnoticeable and becomes noticeable only when the user zooms to the larger scale.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the literal or text changes comprises text select from trivial contents among space, empty lines or comments.
3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the sideband content comprises an author signature or an advertisement.
4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the sideband content is associated with the main content.
5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein multiple sideband content coexists within the main content by forming different sideband contents using different sets of literal or text changes.
6 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising: while the main content is displayed in a smaller scale and being read by the user, the sideband content is morphed into a second sideband content in a background.
7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein forming the sideband content comprises appending or removing blank or whitespaces within the main content around the display space occupied by the sideband content.
8 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the sideband content comprises a text pattern.
9 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the sideband content spans across multiple pages of the main content, each page containing a fraction of sideband content.
10 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the sideband content changes dynamically without a viewers' knowledge.
11 . A method of embedding a sideband content in a main content comprising the steps of:
preparing the main content for reading in a smaller scale; preparing the sideband content for viewing in a larger scale; rendering the main content within a display; modifying the displaying attributes within the main content in an effect that the variations of the displaying attributes forms the sideband content without modifying the literal or text portion of the main content in such a way that: the changes of the displaying attributes to the main content is trivial and unnoticable to a user viewing the main content in the smaller scale; the variations of the displaying attributes of the main content forms the sideband content in the larger scale; when a user is viewing the main content within the display in the smaller scale the variations of displaying attributes in the main content and the formed sideband content is unnoticeable and becomes noticeable only when the user zooms to the larger scale.
12 . The method of claim 11 , wherein modifying the displaying attributes comprising modifying the layout of the main content.
13 . The method of claim 11 , wherein forming the sideband content comprises resizing and reflowing the main content around the display space occupied by the sideband content.
14 . The method of claim 11 , wherein multiple sideband content coexists within the main content by applying different sets of changes to the main content to form different sideband contents.
15 . The method of claim 12 , wherein the displaying attributes of the main content comprising an appearance or visual attributes of the main content.
16 . The method of claim 12 , wherein the displaying attributes of the main content comprising a font, size, color, style or layout.
17 . A system of embedding a sideband content in a main content comprising:
a processor operable to prepare the main content for reading in a smaller scale, prepare the sideband content for viewing in a larger scale, and forming the sideband content inside the main content by amending the main content in such a way that: the changes to the main content is trivial and unimportant to a user viewing the main content in the small scale; the variations of the main content forms the sideband content to a user viewing the main content in the larger scale; the main content is initially displayed in a smaller scale to enable reading of text of the main content and the formed sideband content is unnoticeable while the user is viewing the main content in a smaller scale and the sideband content becomes noticeable only when a user scales out to the larger scale.
18 . The system of claim 17 , wherein amending the main content comprising changing the displaying attributes of the main content or changing the trivial literal or text portion of the main content in a trivial or unimportant manner.
19 . The system of claim 17 , wherein the sideband content is a media content.
20 . The system of claim 17 , wherein the processor is running in a mobile deviceCited by (0)
