Abstract
A swimming pool brush includes (a) a longitudinally extending handle; (b) a transversely projecting mounting bar having a central rectilinear portion; (c) a backing strip attached to the mounting bar; and (d) a plurality of longitudinally projecting discrete bristles of substantially equal length and each having a cross sectional diameter of no more than 0.3 mm.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A swimming pool brush comprising:
a head portion which includes,
a) a support frame having means for attachment of a handle;
b) a laterally extending mounting bar connectable to the support frame and having a central rectilinear portion; and
c) a plurality of discrete bristles projecting longitudinally from the mounting bar, each bristle having a diameter of no more than 0.3 mm.
2 . The swimming pool brush of claim 1 wherein the bristles are of substantially equal length.
3 . The swimming pool brush of claim 1 wherein the bristles projecting from the central rectilinear portion of the mounting bar are substantially parallel to each other.
4 . The swimming pool brush of claim 1 wherein the support frame includes a backing strip and a extending from the backing strip, the tube having a hollow bore configured to receive a handle.
5 . The swimming pool brush of claim 4 including a longitudinal handle having an end portion engaged in the hollow bore of the backing strip.
6 . The swimming pool brush of claim 5 wherein the engagement of the longitudinal handle with the tube of the support frame is a snap-in engagement.
7 . The swimming pool brush of claim 1 wherein the support frame is fabricated from a metal or an engineering plastic.
8 . The swimming pool brush of claim 7 wherein the support frame is fabricated from stainless steel or aluminum.
9 . The swimming pool brush of claim 7 wherein the support frame is fabricated from an engineering plastic selected from the group consisting of high density polyethylene plastic (HDPE), ultra high molecular weight polyethylene plastic (UHMWPE), MC cast nylon 6/66 plastic (Nylon), acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS), polycarbonates (PC), polyamides (PA), polybutylene terephthalate (PBT), polyethylene terephthalate (PET), polyphenylene oxide (PPO), polysulphone (PSU), polyetherketone (PEK), polyetheretherketone (PEEK), polyimides, polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) and polyoxymethylene plastic (POM/Acetal).
10 . The swimming pool brush of claim 4 wherein the mounting bar is removably attached to the backing strip of the support frame.
11 . The swimming pool brush of claim 1 wherein the mounting bar is fabricated from an engineering plastic selected from the group consisting of high density polyethylene plastic (HDPE), ultra high molecular weight polyethylene plastic (UHMWPE), MC cast nylon 6/66 plastic (Nylon), acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS), polycarbonates (PC), polyamides (PA), polybutylene terephthalate (PBT), polyethylene terephthalate (PET), polyphenylene oxide (PPO), polysulphone (PSU), polyetherketone (PEK), polyetheretherketone (PEEK), polyimides, polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) and polyoxymethylene plastic (POM/Acetal).
12 . The swimming pool brush of claim 1 wherein the bristles are fabricated from a polymeric material selected from the group consisting of nylon, polybutylene terephthalate, polyphenylene sulfide, polyethylene and polypropylene.
13 . The swimming pool brush of claim 1 wherein the mounting bar has a length ranging from about 5 inches to about 36 inches.
14 . The swimming pool brush of claim 1 wherein the bristles each have a length ranging from about 1.5 inches to about 5 inches.
15 . A swimming pool brush comprising:
a) a longitudinal handle; b) a support frame including a linear backing strip and a tube having a bore configured to receive the longitudinal handle; c) a laterally extending mounting bar connected to the backing strip of the support frame and having a central rectilinear portion, the mounting bar having a length ranging from about 5 inches to about 36 inches; and, d) a plurality of discrete bristles projecting longitudinally from the mounting bar, the bristles being of equal length, said length ranging from about 1.5 inches to about 5 inches, and each bristle having a diameter of no more than 0.3 mm.Cited by (0)
